“Oh, nobody, really.” Kagome waved off Shippo’s question and placed her flowers carefully on the side of the table. “I never got a good look at him anyway. Couldn’t tell you anything about him if I tried.” Shippo frowned for a moment then moved the conversation forward by saying, “I know we just sat down and haven’t talked much, but would you like to go to the movies with me this weekend? Say, Saturday?” 

“I don’t see why not,” Kagome replied.

“Good,” Shippo nodded his approval. “Then maybe you’d consider accompanying me to a work function next week.”

“Um…What?”
