Chapter Sixty-three: A Silent Tune

Kagome walked out of her office building 20 minutes to noon. The Sweet Rose Café was a ten minute walk, just beyond the park. As she walked up to the little eatery she saw Shippo waiting outside. His eyes were glued to his cellphone and she took the offered moment to observe him with his guard down. 

He gave off a generally relaxed vibe, like someone who doesn’t stress out too much about day-to-day annoyances. His head bobbed from some tune only he could hear, and his lips were curved in a ready smile. She cleared her throat.
