Kagome stared at her reflection and couldn’t believe her eyes. She looked as though her skin had been kissed by the sun. Her eyes and brows were lined in charcoal. She was draped in white linen and her hair was adorned with braids and gold. A golden serpent encircled her arm and leather sandals graced her feet. Nothing in the world could have prepared her for this moment. It was like staring at Egyptian royalty and she thought to herself, “So this is what it would be like to travel back in time.” Peeling herself away, she stepped out the room.
